Instagram Video Downloader for Permitted Public Posts

Request available video from a public Instagram post or Reel link. Understand provider limits, temporary files and permission before reuse.

Only enter public information you are allowed to use.

Example: https://www.instagram.com/reel/ABC123/

The link is resolved on our server and the file is streamed back to you. Only public posts work: nothing is signed into, no privacy setting is bypassed, and no password is ever requested.

This tool accepts a public Instagram post or Reel link and requests the media available through its connected provider. It does not sign in to your Instagram account or open private content. A playable post is not a guarantee that the provider can return a video file.

Use a post or Reel link

  1. Open the public Instagram post or Reel and copy its link.
  2. Paste the link into the field on this page and select Get video.
  3. If the provider returns a file, review the label, format and resolution shown, then choose Save. The file link expires; run the request again if you need a new one.

The provider can return more than one media item or version from a post. This page displays only the available results it receives and caps a response at twelve assets. It cannot promise the original upload, a specific quality, no watermark or lasting access. Unsupported, removed, restricted or private content may return no result.

Check permission before saving or reposting

Saving your own content for your records is different from copying someone else's post into your work. Instagram's copyright guidance says downloading material, giving credit or finding it online does not by itself establish a right to post it. Ask the creator or rights holder for permission when you need to reuse their video. Sharing the original post link is often a simpler way to show someone the content without creating a new copy.

Troubleshoot a missing file

Check that the link points to one public post or Reel, not a profile or a Story. The tool may report invalid input, no media, a disconnected or failing provider, or a rate limit. If the post opens in your browser while you are logged in, it may still be inaccessible to this server. The tool cannot change the post's privacy setting or your rights to the media.

Select the post, not the profile

Open the individual Instagram Reel or video post and copy its link. This tool accepts supported public post and Reel URL shapes. It does not take a profile username as a substitute for the video, and it does not use your Instagram login. A link you can view while signed in may not be available to the server if the account or post has limited access. Check the link in a separate browser session before assuming it is public.

A Story requires a different lookup. The Instagram Story downloader uses a public username or Story URL to request currently available Story media. A feed post or Reel belongs on this page. If you want to inspect a public Story without immediately saving it, the Instagram Story viewer explains what its preview action can show. Choosing the correct tool matters because a Story link and a Reel link identify different kinds of media and have different availability windows.

Decide what you need from the video

For a video you recorded, locate the original file or editing project first. A post or Reel can be a processed copy of that material, and a provider can return only the variant available to it. If your purpose is to share the post with a friend or collaborator, the original Instagram link may preserve the account, caption, and context better than a detached download. If you need a permitted local copy, write down the source URL before saving so the file does not become separated from its origin.

A public post may include several media items. The result can display more than one file, but the server caps how many assets it returns in a single response. Review each label and format. Do not assume the first result is the video you intended or that every result has audio. The dimensions shown describe the returned file, not the recording's original resolution. No wording on this page should be read as a promise of watermark removal or a specific quality.

Save and verify the returned file

If a file appears, choose Save and then open it locally. Check picture, playback, and sound before relying on it. Browser download settings decide where the file is placed; the site does not manage that location for you. The signed file link expires and cannot serve as a permanent public URL. If a later click reports that it has expired, run the lookup again while the source post remains public and the provider is available.

The provider may also return no file even when the post plays in Instagram. It might not support that media variant, or Instagram's access requirements may differ from what your browser sees. A no-media response does not establish that you have entered a private link, nor does it prove that the creator removed the video. Verify the source post first, then distinguish a link error from a provider error or rate limit.

Treat access and reuse separately

Instagram's copyright guidance is cited in the existing page because finding, crediting, or downloading another person's work does not by itself give you the right to post it. Seek permission that matches your intended use before reusing another creator's video. A soundtrack, image, or clip included in the post may also have separate rights. This site cannot assess those rights, identify the rights holder, or grant a licence.

If a colleague needs to see a video, consider sending the post link. If you need an edit source from a collaborator, ask for their original export instead of relying on a social-media copy. These choices often solve the underlying task more cleanly than downloading a public Reel. Keep permission details with the file if you have them, so a later use does not depend on memory of an informal conversation.

If your interest is understanding how Instagram decides what people see rather than retrieving your own file, read the Instagram ranking guide. For a public link that repeatedly produces a tool error, contact the team with the URL and displayed message, without sending your Instagram credentials.

Troubleshoot the exact stage that failed

If the field rejects the address, copy a direct public post or Reel URL rather than an account homepage. If the lookup starts but returns nothing, check whether the post still opens publicly and contains video. If the provider is unavailable, wait before trying again. If a file option appears but saving fails, the temporary link or upstream asset may have expired. Repeated requests are limited. The tool does not open private posts, recover removed media, or promise that all publicly playable Reels can be downloaded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I enter an Instagram Reel link?

Yes. The tool accepts a public Reel or post link and requests whatever media the connected provider can return. A result is not guaranteed.

Can it open a private Instagram post?

No. The tool does not log in to Instagram or bypass private-account controls.

Will I get the original video quality?

The available format and resolution depend on the provider response. The page does not promise the original upload or a particular quality.

Is use unlimited?

No. Requests are rate limited, and the provider may be unavailable or return no media. Try again later when a temporary error occurs.

May I repost a video I download?

Downloading or crediting someone else’s video does not by itself grant reposting rights. Obtain permission from the rights holder before reuse.
